Dance Career (Sims 2 Conversion)

I bring you a conversion of the Sims 2 Dance career, requested by Ironny94 and fairywasteland from MTS. For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Twallan’s Careers Mod:

Patch 1.29 ~ Phase Nine
Patch 1.31-1.36 ~ Phase Ten
Patch 1.38-1.39 ~ Phase Eleven
Patch 1.42-1.48 ~ Phase Twelve
Patch 1.50 ~ Phase Thirteen
Patch 1.55-1.57 ~ Phase Fourteen
Patch 1.63 ~ Phase Fifteen
There are four versions of this mod. You can only have ONE installed.
Download MissyHissy_TS2DanceCareer if you have World Adventures and Late Night.
Download MissyHissy_TS2DanceCareerWA if you have World Adventures but NOT Late Night.
Download MissyHissy_TS2DanceCareerLN if you have Late Night but NOT World Adventures.
Download MissyHissy_TS2DanceCareerBaseGame if you don’t have either expansion packs.
The career should work with any of the other expansion or stuff packs.
It was made with patch 1.34 and works on patches 1.34-1.63 and should work on all lower patch levels, although if it doesn’t, please let me know.
The career is written in English and currently supports French, Danish and Brazilian Portuguese translations (Thanks to Zx-Ta, Misling and vini for the translations!). I’ll include translation instructions at the end.

The career is based at the Theatre. It has ten levels and focuses on the Athletic skill and also includes the Guitar and Charisma skills (and Martial Arts if you have WA and Bass, Drums and Piano if you have LN).
There are currently no uniforms for this career as EA didn’t have anything suitable. You can edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform 🙂
There are no opportunities yet as I haven’t learnt how to do them yet.
There’s one custom tone, Practise Dance Moves, which builds the Athletic skill.

Career Levels

1. Aerobics Instructor ~ And 1 and 2 and step and bend and move and slide and kick and stretch and 3 and 4 keep ’em moving keep ’em guessing. Keep your own body in shape and maybe one day your dream of becoming an aerobics instructor will come true.
Hours: 8.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

2. Backup Dancer ~ Here’s your first opportunity to show your skills and hopefully hone your craft by working with veterans in the industry. It’s still technically a starving artist position, but everyone has to start somewhere. Make sure you bring your ‘A’ game everyday because you never know when you’ll be given that opportunity to shine and impress someone.
Hours: 3.00pm ~ 10.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday

3. Jazzercise Instructor ~ Why you left backup dancing to teach a workout class based on a 20 year old out-dated fad, you’ll never know, but the world of dance moves in mysterious ways. Dust off that unitard, warm up the hair crimper, darn up those leg warmers and hit the hardwoods; it’s time for some creativity and some pizzazz.
Hours: 8.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

4. Pop N’ Lock Performer ~ It’s taken you a while to perfect your popping, but you’ve been a natural locker since birth. Now it’s time to bring the two together. Keep in time, hit the streets, the clubs, that art shows, anywhere you can show your stuff. Just remember to pop then lock, cause lockin’ then poppin’ is just as bad as frontin’, which is almost as bad as stackin’ on stage.
Hours: 1.00pm ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

5. Dance Video Star ~ Remember when you were a dancer staning with 8 other dancers, behind that one dancer who was standing behind all the famous people? Well those days are long gone. Now you’re the dancer in front of the other 8 dancers, behing the famous people. Call your mom, cause you’ve made it to the middle!
Hours: 10.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

6. Interpretive Dancer ~ There are many interpretive dancers who are very famous in the interpretive dancing community. Like that girl that does the one about the willow tree, and that other guy who pretends he’s ribbons blowing on the breeze. Sometimes it can be difficult to interpret what a dancer is doing, but since it’s pretty much all up to interpretation anyways who’s to say you aren’t really, really good?
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 10.00pm
Days: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

7. Tap Dancer ~ No one laughs at tap dancers, they laugh with them, and with the whole stomp and smash crazes going on the demand for tap dancers is at an all time high. Top hat. Check. Cane. Check. Mock sequined half tux with tails. Check. Trashcan lids, drumsticks, empty paint cans, and graffitied concrete wall sections are all optional, but entirely more trendy. Bring the noise, also bring a decent amount of funk, and don’t forget the jazz hands.
Hours: 3.00pm ~ 9.00pm
Days: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

8. Ballroom Dancer ~ Now’s your time to prove your technical proficiency to the dancing world. Ballroom dancing is so technical that almost all forms of artistic expression have been removed, luckily all fashion sense has been removed as well. So, find the gaudiest outfit you can, slick back your hair, plaster a smile on your face, and let your feet do the talking while your competitors get to walking.

Hours: 5.00pm ~ 11.00pm
Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

9. Flamenco Master ~ You’ve nearly made it. You’ve blown away all the competition in the ballroom, and have risen to the rank of master of the dance! You now perform to sold out corwds of adoring fans. Agents are talking to you about perfume and clothing lines, and you’ve personally brought flamenco back to the masses. Keep your eyes on the prize, and don’t forget your roots, and focus on your art. Nobody likes a sell out, well, except all the people you are selling out to, and they tend to be able to afford concert tickets…
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 10.00pm
Days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

10. World Class Ballet Dancer ~ You are now the pinnacle of dance; the ultimate combination of technical and artistic prowess. So what if half of the audience is asleep during every performance? You are an artist, and art for art’s sake is just as important as art for the masses. You now dance for you and you alone, a fallen angel swirling majestically in a sea of frozen honey and swan down. You are nature. You are magic. You are light an dark and steel and softness, the embodiment of human form…in tights.
Hours: 4.00pm ~ 9.00pm
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
