Factory Career

I bring you a Factory Career, requested by jmtexas1980! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Twallan’s Careers Mod:

Patch 1.29 ~ Phase Nine
Patch 1.31-1.36 ~ Phase Ten
Patch 1.38-1.39 ~ Phase Eleven
Patch 1.42-1.48 ~ Phase Twelve
Patch 1.50 ~ Phase Thirteen
Patch 1.55-1.57 ~ Phase Fourteen
Patch 1.63 ~ Phase Fifteen

Only the Base game is needed for this career to work but it will work with any combination of Expansion and Stuff packs.
It was made with patch 1.38 and works on patches 1.38-1.63 and should work on all lower patch levels, although if it doesn’t, please let me know.
The career is written in English and Brazilian Portuguese (Thanks vini for the translation!) and currently doesn’t support any other translations. I’ll include translation instructions at the end.

The career is based at the Criminal Hideout. It has ten levels and focuses on the Handiness, Charisma and Logic skills.
There are no uniforms. You can edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing 🙂
Right now, there are no opportunities. I can’t get them working at the moment, but I won’t stop trying!
There is one custom tone, Tweak Equipment, which builds the Handiness Skill.

Career Levels

1. Fresh Meat ~ You’re fresh meat for the grinder, buddy! You applied for work at the local staffing office, probably at the urging of your parents or other house-mates, begging you to get off your arse and get a job! The agency finally placed you at this factory, and you’re starting at rock-bottom! Hell, you’re still in classrooms, and not even on the floor yet! If you can survive newbie training, maybe you can do some actual work! Hey, we all gotta start somewhere, right?

Hours: 9.00am ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

2.  Arse-Kisser  ~ Okay, you’ve been fresh meat for longer than you like, and you feel it’s high time that the others knew you existed. So, to that end, you’ve volunteered to help out your boss, hoping to get on his good side and hoping for a little kick upstairs. Well, you can dream, can’t you?
Hours:  9.00am ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

3. Tool Pusher ~ It seems that all that arse-kissing to the boss must have paid off, ‘cos you actually have a solid position…sort of…he’s got you running the tool room, hoping to keep you out of his hair for awhile. But, you do get to meet other workers as they come to draw tools. On the downside, they’re not very friendly, and seem to emit a rather large amount of earthy spew from their mouths. Try chatting some of them up, and hopefully you may find a friendly face…hopefully. In the meantime, check out some of those correspondence courses in handiness to build up that skill a bit, and maybe the management might…just might…be willing to give you a shot on the floor.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 7.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

4. Assembly Line Monkey ~ Seems like that handiness training paid off, and so did sucking up whenever you could, ‘cos the management has finally seen fit to place you on the assembly line. It’s not that glamorous, but you’re finally getting into this factory gig. Just try not to lose any body parts, and keep your nose to the grindstone! That, and continue to chat up your co-workers so you at least feel like somebody, eh?
Hours:  9.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

5. Roughneck ~ You’ve been a line-monkey for some time now, and at this point, you’ve gotten through the newbie phase with all your fingers and toes intact. You’re well-versed in your work, and your co-workers have just started to warm up to you…leastways, they actually call you by your name now…better than nothing, right? You’re starting to solidify your place in the factory here, and things are looking up for you! The only thing that can scare you now is getting laid off–let’s hope, oh, dear God, let’s hope–and PRAY–that doesn’t happen!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

6. Job Trainer ~ Hmmm…seems you survived that last round of layoffs, and you are one of the few roughnecks left…and there is a large gaggle of wet-behind-the-ears newbies! So, due to your experience, the upper management has assigned you the arduous task of training these newbies that the staffing people just plopped into your lap. Be patient, try not to lose your temper, and always remember that you were once a newbie yourself. Use your experience well and you’ll make a swell mentor!
Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

7. Floor Supervisor ~ Okay, some of the newer guys have gotten experienced enough to be roughnecks, while some have become trainers themselves, so now you are given the task of running the floor. You now bark the orders at the line-monkeys, and the trainers, and your job involves a little less manual labour. As always, remember where you came from, because out of the workers you were taken, and into them you can return!

Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

8. Department Manager ~ Off the floor and into a nice, clean office! This hardly feels like factory work anymore, but you are responsible not only for the workers, but for the supervisors in your department. This position calls for a ton of brainwork and charisma now, and much less manual labor, so build up your charisma and your logic so that the decisions you make can raise profits and save money!
Hours:  10.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

9. Vice-President ~ Ah, the coveted vice-president position! It even includes a really fancy office with a view! You are the number two man to the superintendent now, and the dep’t managers kowtow to you! You work largely with your brain and your lips now, and hand-work is virtually non-existent at this point, so keep up your charisma, keep your head on straight, and keep the polish in your speeches to the peons! Soon, the top spot can be yours!
Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

10. Plant Superintendent ~ Here you are, at the top spot! You’re the big cheese, the head honcho, the top dog…okay, I’ll quit now. Anyway, you now run the plant since the boss man retired to play more golf, so now the plant is yours to command! You get to spend the larger part of the day chillaxin’ in your obscenely opulent office, signing your illustrious John Hancock to some forms, and listening to the reports from the lesser management. Your days are relatively short, but that’s so you can concentrate on your afternoon golf game and let the lesser management hold down the fort!

Hours:  11.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
