Funeral Director Career

Base Game

Originally released 29/08/2012
I bring you a Funeral Director Career, requested by my brother! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Nraas Careers Mod.

Only the Base game is needed for this career to work as intended. It was made with patch 1.36 and works on patch 1.69.
The career is written in EnglishSpanish, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Dutch and Chinese. I’ll include translation instructions at the end.

The career is based at the Mausoleum. To change the designated rabbithole to suit your own requirements, I have a tutorial HERE for you to follow. It has ten levels and focuses on the Athletic, Gardening, Charisma and Handiness skills.
Levels 9 and 10 both have uniforms. You can also edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing 🙂
Right now, there are no opportunities.
Your sim may receive a bonus on Snowflake Day if Seasons is installed.
There are two custom tones:
Weed the Graveyard, which builds the Gardening skill
Talk to the Customers, which builds the Charisma skill.

NOTE: When sending your Sims to the rabbithole to join this career, the option will not appear on the Graveyard map tag. You will need to send your Sim to the graveyard, then click on the mausoleum rabbithole to join the career. This is because the career is assigned to the rabbithole building, not the lot type. 🙂

Career Levels

1. Grave Digger ~ It’s not just a hole in the ground. Measurements have to be precise because you can’t afford to mess this up. It means a lot of digging on a daily basis, so you’d better be working out in your spare time to keep in shape!
Hours: 12.00pm ~ 9.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

2.  Graveyard Tender  ~ The garden of eternal rest has to be kept tidy. The bereaved won’t want to see their loved one’s grave covered with weeds and brambles, now would they? So keep the place tidy or you’ll be back to the labour of digging again!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

3. Flower Arranger ~ Arranging those blooms to welcome bereaved clients is all part of the job. It’s a more pleasant job than digging graves and you fee a sense of accomplishment from putting a small smile on the face of a mourning Sim.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

4. Coffin Maker ~ Making the caskets to fit the departed is your job now. Surprisingly, you see quite a variety of coffins in your job, from traditional coffins to the slightly more ‘unique’. Just remember to measure twice and cut once!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

5. Embalmer ~ An ancient skill but still used today. As an embalmer you will be able to prepare the departed for their final journey. It doesn’t sound like a pleasant job but if it pays the bills and gets you on the ladder to the top, you won’t complain. Well, not that much.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

6. Hearse Driver ~ You know most of the business now but there will be times when you will need to drive the funeral car (hearse). Just make sure, for the love of the Watcher, that you drive to the right funeral. If not, it’s back to the graveyard for you – one way or another!
Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

7. Undertaker ~ There’s nothing you don’t know about the funeral business but now you’ll have to greet the bereaved and help them plan the final journey of their dearly departed. It’s a little depressing being around so many sad people but then that’s part of the job, so make sure your clients feel comfortable with the services offered to them!
Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

8. Medium ~ Sometimes the bereaved will crave a message from the departed. As a medium, you will be able to convey those messages from the ‘other side’ to reassure those left behind. It feels satisfying to comfort Sims from around the town.
Hours:  12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

9. Assistant Funeral Director ~ As the boss’s Number 1, you can take charge in their absence if needed. You’ve come a long way from digging graves and you admire the perseverance of the current Grave Diggers. Just remember where you came from, or you’ll be on a fast descent to your roots – literally…
Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

10. Funeral Director ~You’re the boss now so you’ll need to be sure that everyone does their job properly – swiftly and with style. All the local funerals are arranged by you and your team and everyone knows you will only provide the best services for their departed loved ones. Well done!
Hours:  10.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
