Airline Career

I bring you an Airline Career, requested by alishiagambino and fredehorn! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Twallan’s Careers Mod:

Patch 1.29 ~ Phase Nine
Patch 1.31-1.36 ~ Phase Ten
Patch 1.38-1.39 ~ Phase Eleven
Patch 1.42-1.48 ~ Phase Twelve
Patch 1.50 ~ Phase Thirteen
Patch 1.55-1.57 ~ Phase Fourteen
Patch 1.63 ~ Phase Fifteen

Only the Base game is needed for this career to work but it will work with any combination of Expansion and Stuff packs. It was made with patch 1.38 and works with patches 1.38-1.63 and should work on all patch levels, although if it doesn’t, please let me know. The career is written in English, Polish, Dutch and Brazillian Portuguese (Thanks to Monika, Kimmi and vini for the translations!). I’ll include translation instructions at the end.

There are two versions of this career. The regular version is at the Business and Journalism office and the second version is at the Military Base. Only install ONE version, as they will conflict. It also boasts TWO different paths. Yes, you read that right. I’ve sussed and created my very first multi-branch career! Haha! You guys should all feel special and can share this proud moment with me! So, the career has five levels, then branches off into two paths, both with five levels each. Pretty neat, huh? 😉
The career focuses on the Logic, Handiness, Athletic and Charisma skills.
There are uniforms for every level. They’re base game uniforms, used in the Business career. You can also edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing 🙂
Right now, there are no opportunities. I am going to be attempting this soon, so watch this space! I know I keep saying this, but it’s a matter of getting enough time (and patience) to actually toy with it!
There are two custom tones, Practise Speaking, which builds the Charisma skill and Play Chess During Break, which builds the Logic skill. Elder sims can also retire from this career.

Career Levels 1. Plane Cleaner ~ Llama Airlines is your entry into the sky! As a plane cleaner it will be your job to tidy up the planes when they arrive. Take out the trash, empty the toilets on board, and, of course, take out the filled up vomit bags! Not the big dream yet but if you do good and upgrade your skills you have a chance to conquer the skies some day!
Hours: 8.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

2.  Baggage Handler  ~ Congratulations, you’re making your way. No toilet cleaning and not vomit bags anymore, but your new position is tough, indeed! As a Baggage Handler you have to load and unload the baggage in and out the planes and put them on the baggage claims. You need to be in a good shape because things have to happen on time and bags can be heavy as hell. So improve your athletics and handling skills for your next step!
Hours:  8.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. International Luggage Loser ~ Did you ever wonder, how luggage disappears every now and then? Now you know! You are no longer balancing bags around and ruin your bones. On the next step of the career ladder it is your job to watch the unloaded luggage and select some pieces that can be declared “lost”. You may see no reason doing this, but you will find your bosses delighted by wearing new clothes every day. Be quick and inconspicuous and keep your bosses happy!
Hours:  8.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

4. Check-In Agent ~ You did good at letting luggage disappear and your bosses recommended you for a promotion! Now you take your seat behind the check-in counter. Be well prepared for the first contacts with the customer. You accept their luggage, hand them their boarding passes and you also perform the boarding of the passengers. Time is money and the customer is always right. Keep that in mind and you will be seen!
Hours:  6.00am ~ 1.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

5. Ramp Agent ~ You told people so much about aeroplanes while handing them their boarding passes that some complained to your bosses. They decided not to let you work so close to the customer for once, but, however, they noticed your enthusiasm about aeroplanes and decided to install you as a ramp agent. Your job is now to supervise the loading and unloading of the planes and to pass the correct figures to the pilots concerning fuel, passengers and weight. Be accurate, thorough and quick at the same time to satisfy your bosses and the flight deck crews!
Hours:  3.00pm ~ 9.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday

Administrative Branch

6. Dispatcher ~ You decided to take place behind the desk and let others do the dirty work. But your next job requires all of your skills and concentration. Dispatchers are virtually the backbone of the daily operations of an airline. They define the routing of the flights, calculate the amount of fuel needed, the amount of time it will take from A to B and many other things for the safe conduct of a flight. Be thorough and upgrade your skills to cope with the needs of this job. Try to have an eye on your bosses and co-workers, too, as good relations are always important to climb the ladder!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

7. Fleet Manager ~ Congratulations! Your excellent performance as a dispatcher impressed your bosses so they promoted you to Fleet Manager. You now have a leadership position in the airline and you are responsible for the aircraft fleet. Maintenance intervals have to be kept, training standards for the staff have to be ensured and you are also in charge of selling old and buying new aircraft. A very responsible position which requires a lot of skills and sensitiveness towards the board of directors and your co-workers.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

8. Flight Operations Manager ~ Thanks to your great reputation and your superb performance as Fleet Manager, the Board Of Directors promoted you to Flight Operations Manager. In this position you are responsible for the complete daily business. You have the final disposition of hiring new staff and you also develop and improve the operating procedures of your company. Keep it up and extend your relations so you may enter the Board Of Directors some day.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

9. Board Director ~ Marvellous! You made your way up to the Board Of Directors. Now you spend your day attending meetings and vote for the course of action of the company. But be aware: Things you decide can have extensive output at this stage and more and more people are looking at you. So improve your Charisma and Logic skills to stand out against the other members to be elected CEO.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

10. Airline CEO ~You made it! The members of the Board Of Directors elected you as the new CEO of Llama Airlines! Congratulations, you have now reached the top of the Airline career. You went through several stages of the company and have proven your skills all way through. Be sensitive to always vote for the right decisions and have a look to your left and to your right for someone who tries to undermine your position.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

Pilot Branch

6. Flight Attendant ~ You always dreamed to conquer the skies? This is the first position that takes you up above the clouds! As a Flight Attendant it is your duty to cater for the safety onboard an aeroplane at all times. As interesting as it sounds, most of the time you will spend serving tomato juice and explaining how to use seatbelts and life vests. Payment is low and you have to work a lot but you are flying and you see the world. Teamwork is important onboard a plane so you better get along with your colleagues!
Hours:  6.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

7. Purser/Purserette ~ Your excellent handling with the passengers and your good reputations brought you a promotion. You are now the Chief Flight Attendant. You are responsible for the sequence of actions onboard and you do the passenger announcements. You are also responsible for coping with unpleasant passengers and their pacification. As hard as it gets, customer is king! Improve your skills that you may fly these planes someday.
Hours:  12.00pm ~ 10.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday

8. First Officer ~ Congratulations! From now on you will take place in the flight deck of the big airliners. As a First Officer you work together with the Captain in conducting flights safely and efficiently through the whole world! Your performance will be constantly evaluated by the captains you are flying with, so keep your skills and relations up. The cabin attendants and passengers will now look up to you, so you better be a good role model! If all works out you will become captain sooner or later!
Hours:  6.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday

9. Captain ~ You are now the commander of the biggest airliners on the market. You have the final disposition of the aircraft but you also have the responsibility. So you better stick to the Operating Procedures of your company to prevent yourself from getting into trouble. Now your home is above the clouds and now you get to evaluate the new First Officers. Don’t be too hard on them! If you qualify further you may be promoted Chief Pilot one day…
Hours:  12.00pm ~ 10.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday

10. Chief Pilot ~You climbed to the top of the airline career! Your good reputation and your extensive know how made your bosses decide to promote you to Chief Pilot. In this position you are the connector between the pilots and the management. You get to negotiate new contracts, you develop and improve operating procedures, you train and evaluate new pilots and you still get to fly yourself from time to time. An exciting and challenging position and a dream coming true!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

nice career :P, looks pretty interesting, can hardly imagine a airport / plane inside a business office, or a military base, shame EA didn’t make a airport to accompany World Adventures.

one thing, wouldn’t pilots become a second officer (1 stripe) before becoming a first officer? And maybe captain should be rank 10

The titles were given to me by someone who does know something about the levels, so they’ll stay as they are. But by all means, feel free to change them for your own use if you wish 🙂
