Lawyer Career

I bring you a Lawyer Career, requested by my Mum and Hal-R from MTS! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Twallan’s Careers Mod:

Patch 1.29 ~ Phase Nine
Patch 1.31-1.36 ~ Phase Ten
Patch 1.38-1.39 ~ Phase Eleven
Patch 1.42-1.48 ~ Phase Twelve
Patch 1.50 ~ Phase Thirteen
Patch 1.55-1.57 ~ Phase Fourteen
Patch 1.63 ~ Phase Fifteen

Only the Base game is needed for this career to work but it will work with any combination of Expansion and Stuff packs.
It was made with patch 1.42 and works on patches 1.42-1.63 and should work on all patch levels, although if it doesn’t, please let me know.
The career is in English, Russian, Danish, Polish and Brazillian Portuguese (thanks to todoabout, Misling, Monika and Pedro for the translations!). I’ll include translation instructions at the end.
The career is based at the Police Department. It has ten levels and focuses on the Logic and Charisma skills.
There are uniforms for all ten levels. You can also edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing 🙂
Right now, there are no opportunities. I am going to be attempting this soon, so watch this space!
There is one custom skill, Study the Law, which focuses on the Logic skill.
Career Levels
1. Filing Clerk ~ You have to start somewhere, so where better than filing away all those legal documents and clients’ files? You need to keep the office tidy and keep all the files in order if you want to climb the ladder of law.
Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
2.  Legal Receptionist  ~ Talking to clients and booking appointments is an important job and that’s now your job. In your spare time you study up on the law and keep your eyes peeled for any sign of promotion.
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
3. Legal Secretary ~ Discretion is needed in this position, for you’ll have access to confidential information. You’ll be responsible for all the letters that go out to clients and recipients. Just make sure you don’t send the wrong information to the wrong person, or it’ll be the bottom of the ladder for you!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
4. Personal Injury Attorney ~ Now you’ll be dealing with the real stuff! Working on behalf of clients who have been the victims of personal injuries can be a stressful task, but if you’re up to the challenge, you’ll do well.

Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
5. Divorce Lawyer ~ Divorce is on the increase these days so you’ll be kept busy dealing with an endless stream of clients. These clients are never the most pleasant to work with and you’ll wish you didn’t have to work with divorcees. If you knuckle down, a promotion could be in the offing…
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
6. Tax Lawyer ~ You won’t be popular with the tax office but your client will love you for saving them money! Make sure, however, that what you do is legal and won’t get YOU in trouble at your client’s hands!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

7. Corporate Lawyer ~ Individual businesses are your speciality now. You fight the legal battles for businesses. It’s a messy business and the amount of money spent never fails to amaze you, but it’s a job and it’s paying you well so you’re in no position to complain!

Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

8. Family Lawyer ~ All things family are your department now as you learn how to handle adoptions, legal documents among families and squabbles. You wish that families would get along better, but if they did, you wouldn’t have a job! Just remain as impartial as possible while staying on the side of the law and you’ll do just fine.

Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
9. Senior Lawyer ~ Well, you’re almost there now and you have a lot of responsibility but you can delegate whatever you want. Keep the easy jobs and delegate the difficult cases to your colleagues. Who said being in charge couldn’t be fun?
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
10. Legal Eagle ~It’s been a long journey working your way to the top but you’ve made it. You’re the boss now! You keep an eye on the lower Lawyers and maintain a good reputation, not only for the company, but for yourself too. You’ve reached the stop step of the Law ladder and it’s time to reap the benefits of hours spent in court rooms and pouring over cases. Enjoy the peace while it lasts!
Hours:  9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
I’m not fluent enough in any other languages to translate, so if you’re interested in translating this career into your language, then please download this Language Strings file and open the file up in Notepad.

Do that for the entire file, then email me your translation to: and let me know which language you’re translating to. 🙂
The career works for me but if you have any issues, please don’t hesitate to let me know and I’ll do my best to sort it as quickly as possible.

  1. Hey, is this career really based in the Police Department? I thought it belonged in City Hall.

If I state in the original post that it is based at the Police Department, then it is indeed based at the Police Department 🙂 It doesn’t ‘belong’ anywhere other than where I’ve set it. You’re more than welcome to tweak it for yourself to City Hall. I have no objections, provided it is for your own use only 🙂
