Nursing Career

I bring you a Nursing Career, requested by Sally, nathosey, Sandy and Sara! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Nraas Careers Mod.

It was made with patch 1.55 and works on patches 1.57-1.69 and should work on all patch levels, although if it doesn’t, please let me know.
The career is in English, Chinese, Dutch, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian (Thanks to Oscar, Denise, Joycelin, Isabel, vini and Victor for the translations). I’ll include translation instructions at the end.

This career is also available for Sims 4. Download at midnitetech’s Tumblr.

The career is based at the Hospital. To change the designated rabbithole to suit your own requirements, I have a tutorial HERE for you to follow. If you have a previous version with anything added to the end of the file name, please remove it and download the new version instead. It has ten levels and focuses on the Charisma and Science skills.
There are uniforms for levels 2-10 in this career. You can also edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing :) For your male sims, I recommend THESE coats by spladoum.
There are 4 Opportunities with this career. Details of these opportunities can be found Here.
Your sim may receive a bonus on Snowflake Day if Seasons is installed.
There are two custom tones; Study Medicine, which builds the Science skill and Comfort Patients, which builds the Charisma skill.
With Ambitions installed, sims will randomly fall ill on a community lot when your Nurse visits. Treating them gives a small boost to job performance.
The career requires University Life.

Career Levels

1. Home Health Aid ~ You are at the bottom of the food chain in this career. You need to work hard and make friends with your patients to get up a little higher. You cook, clean, and care your way up to the promotion you want. If your patients need help, you vow to be there to help. You cannot miss work or you will plummet back down the charts because this makes your patients unhappy.
Hours: 7.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2.  Certified Nursing Assistant  ~ Even though you still can’t make your own decisions, you don’t have to stay with the same patient any more! You now work with the elderly; they are very needy and very fragile, so you must be ready for lots of walking around to patient to patient. Try your best to become friends with your patients because the more friends you have the better chance of a promotion. Don’t forget to ask the Licensed Practical Nurse before you make any BIG decisions, because if you don’t, you might lose your job.
Hours:  11.00pm ~ 7.00am
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Licensed Practical Nurse ~ You are now the boss of others but still under much higher authority. As the Certified Nursing assistants ask you a lot of questions, it becomes a big responsibility. You must care for patients in nursing homes but with more difficult tasks. Remember that the RN (Registered Nurse) will be keeping an eye on you.
Hours:  7.00pm ~ 7.00am
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

4. Registered Nurse ~ Now you work in the ER! You must make sure everyone in your unit is doing their job. You’re still not quite to the top but you’re started to get recognized. You make more money and you don’t have to make friends with all your patients especially because once they are treated they either leave or go to the hospital, depending on how serious the patient’s injury is. But try your best to impress your Charge Nurse, because they are the ones who will either promote you or demote you; or,worse, fire you! So missing work shouldn’t be an option, if you serious about this career.
Hours: 7.00am ~ 7.00pm
Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

5. Trauma Rescue Nurse ~ You are now one of the few that actually get to fly in a helicopter. You only go to the worst of the accidents so you have to have a strong mind (and stomach) to stay focused on your work. You must stabilize and transport your patients back to the hospital where they can get even more care. It’s up to you if they make it, and everyone puts the pressure on you. Make sure to impress the Nurse Educator!
Hours: 6.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday

6. Nurse Educator ~ You are making your way to the top one nurse position at a time, because now you are teaching nurses new things that nobody but you and the other Nurse Educators know! So if your not ready to answer questions in a snap then you might lose your job, because it might be easy to teach people who don’t know anything about nursing but it won’t be easy to teach people who think you’re not that much better than them. And besides the paycheck and how smart you have to be, you really aren’t that much better. If your Nurse Manager isn’t impressed with you they could be your worst nightmare, but if they are happy with your work then you might get a PROMOTION! Don’t crumble under the pressure, keep your head up at all times!
Hours: 3.00pm ~ 11.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

7. Nurse Manager ~ You manage your own Hospital units. You get to choose wether it’s the ICU or the Emergency area. It will be different almost every day so you have to get used to change, and quick. It’s all about your pace and you better keep it up if you plan on impressing your boss and getting any type of promotion. Good Luck!
Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

8. Assistant Director of Nurses ~ Now instead of just watching 2 or 3 places you must watch over the whole hospital! Many people look up to you, so one mistake could be your last. So make sure you’re not playing around on the job! You now also make sure everyone’s schedule is correct and their hours are accounted for. If the Director isn’t impressed with how fast and how good you handle things, say goodbye to this career! Just be organized and you’ll be ready for anything and everything to end up in your office!
Hours: 9.00am ~ 5.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

9. Director of Nurses ~ You are almost there. So close you can taste it! You answer directly to CEO of the hospital. You control anything and every thing that goes on dealing with the nurses under your instruction. Carefully improve and control your stations and sections for your final promotion.
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

10. Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner ~ Now, after all those years of school, the hard work has finally paid off! You’re the cream of the crop! You are your own boss, you set your own hours, you have your own clinic, and best of all you don’t have to answer to anyone! But you are under a lot of pressure because you control all the nurses that work for you! Everywhere you turn someone needs help so you have to help without any questions! Hey this job isn’t all bad especially because it’s the highest you can be and your pay check isn’t bad at all! Don’t lose your head, it would suck to lose your office after all the time you spent at school and all the things you went through to get there!
Hours: 8.00am ~ 3.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Hi, i like this mod! but i got a question… if i only have the univerisity life expansion, it will work? or i just have to download the base game version?

  5. missyhissy says:

It *should* be okay for you to use the regular version, but I’m not 100% certain 🙂

  6. Hi! I have the 1.54.95 patch version, and I have recently installed Island Paradise. Will this work with this? Or should I update it to a newer patch? Sorry, kinda new to this. But I also am a nurse and I’m excited to try this! Thank you very much. 🙂

  7. Princess Qt says:

It works great with the 1.67 patch also!

  8. Danysha says:

  9. kellenhanley says:

how do you get it to actually download in the sims 3? I have a Mac and it isn’t converting. :/

  10. Amberly says:

Ive noticed that after a certain level (i forget which, sorry) that there is no longer a carpool for this career. Aside from that i absolutely LOVE this career

  11. Amanda says:

Hello! I love your work and if it wasn’t for you I definitely wouldn’t love TS3 as much as I do. I’m a pre-med student in real life and i’m about to have my simself join your nursing career, but I would like to know if you’ve added the opportunities yet? I would REALLY appreciate some for my sim as I would love for her to be extra dedicated to nursing just like myself. Thank you for your amazing creativity! Blessings!

    • missyhissy says:

Hi there, thanks for the lovely message! I’ve got some opportunities in progress, but they’re not quite ready for public download. However, if you email me at the address on the side (, I’d be happy to send you the file for your own use. Also, if you have any ideas for opportunities (since you know more about the field than I do), please let me know!

  12. Emily Brown says:

Hello! I adore this career mod (I’m a prospective nursing student), however, I’m experiencing some trouble. I have the latest patch, 1.69, and have downloaded the base-mod version of this mod (I do not have Ambitions or University) and the correct Careers Mod from Twallan countless times. The mod shows up and my sims are allowed to apply for it and get the job, however, it will not let them promote past the first level. Even their bosses are at the first level, Home Health Aid. I tried the testingcheatsenabled true cheat where you click on the mailbox and can change a sims’s job and level, but “Nursing” doesn’t even show up at a category. This same issue has also occurred with your Teaching career as well. Is it possible that the careers do not coincide with Patch 1.69? Thanks!

    • missyhissy says:

Hi there, Emily. Sorry the career isn’t working for you. Right now, I’m not sure what the issue could be. What happens exactly when the sim’s performance bar fills up?

  13. Daniela says:

I have been searching everywhere for a nursing career mod and have only found ons available for the Sims 2 and Sims 3 (yours) which I can no longer play:/ I am an RN in real life and would truly love something like this in my Sims 4 game. Is there any way you would make one or know of one that has been made?
    Thank you!

  14. brittany jackson says:

Hi. I have a problem. I’ve downloaded the nursing career, along with the NRaas. I’ve tested to see if it would upload, but only the NRass comes up, not the nursing options. What could I be missing?

    • missyhissy says:

I’ve just replied to your email but double check you’ve installed the Nraas Careers mod. That’s the loader for custom careers – they won’t show up without it 🙂
