Event Planner Career

I bring you an Event Planner Career, requested by Sandy! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Nraas Careers Mod.

The Base Game, Late Night and University are required for this career to work and it will work with any combination of Expansion and Stuff Packs.
It was made with patch 1.57 and works on patch 1.69 and should work on all patch levels, although if it doesn’t, please let me know.
The career is in English, Polish, Danish, Brazilian Portuguese, German and Russian (Thanks to Monika, Misling, vini, Angie and Victor for the translations!). I’ll include translation instructions at the end.

The career is based at the City Hall. To change the designated rabbithole to suit your own requirements, I have a tutorial HERE for you to follow. It has ten levels and focuses on the Charisma, Logic and Social Networking skills.
There are uniforms for all levels of this career. You can edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing :)
There are 7 opportunities. Details of these opportunities can be found Here.
Your sim may receive a bonus on Snowflake Day if Seasons is installed.
There is one custom tone; Network, which builds the Social Networking skill.

Career Levels

1. Intern ~ You can’t become an event planner immediately after completing your education. This entails working for a large organisation that supports all types of event planners, so you can get a feel for your job and shadow your superiors. So take notes, work on those charisma skills and you’ll be moving on up in no time.
Hours: 8.00am ~ 4.00pm
Downtown Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2.  Administrative Assistant  ~ It’s time to put those organisational skills to good use. Logical thinking is vital, since you’re going to be involved in a lot of the events your company begins planning. So while you’ll gain no credit at all for the overall event, at least you’ll have contributed something towards it!
Hours:  8.00am ~ 4.00pm
Downtown Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Marketing Coordinator ~ So, a large company in SimCity is launching a new product and your organisation is hosting the launch event. You’ve been assigned the task of promoting the event, as well as checking out the venue and printing out the fliers and posters; all within a fairly tight deadline.
Hours:  8.00am ~ 4.00pm
Downtown Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

4. Training Assistant ~ You’re almost at the rank of an actual organiser. Each time there’s an event to plan, it’s down to you to assist with booking the venue, sending invitations to the guests and confirming participants. You’ll need strong people skills for this job and a wide-ranging knowledge of social networks.
Hours: 8.00am ~ 4.00pm
Downtown Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

5. Birthday Party Organiser ~ So you’ve been given a bit of freedom and are now able to organise your own events. Starting small, you’ll deal with birthday parties, from kiddie parties with bouncy castles and clowns, to more mature celebrations with ‘dancers’. So even though you’ll currently only organise one type of party, you’ll still have a large variety of celebrations to work with.
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Downtown Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

6. Speed-Dating Architect ~ Some people in the town need a little help when it comes to love. Sometimes, speed-dating evenings can help shy sims come out of their shell; they can help those who have a low self-esteem be more confident and communicative. These events take a great deal of careful planning and networking, but often, the results can be rewarding.
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Downtown Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

7. Funeral Coordinator ~ A more sombre occasion calls for logical planning and perfection. While you need to cater for the bereaved, remember to make the event a celebration of the life of the recently departed. Be tactful and summon up all your people skills because you’re going to need them!
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Downtown Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

8. Wedding Planner ~ Ahh, the sounds of the wedding bells and the image of the perfect bride and groom. Perhaps this jolts your memory back to your wedding day, or the wedding day of a friend. But you know that this event cannot go wrong. Therefore it’s going to take a lot of planning and cooperation with the happy couple to organise that perfect wedding.
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Downtown Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

9. Fundraiser Arranger ~ The Mayor wants to organise a fundraiser to fix the town hall roof, and the local Sims In Need charity group are going to throw a charity fundraiser next month to raise money for their campaign. And they all want you to organise these events! You may feel swamped with work, but with clear thinking and perfect organizational skills, you’ll master those fundraisers in no time.
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Downtown Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

10. Festival Designer ~ Perhaps the most difficult of events to organise due to the volume of sims attending, a festival takes many months of diligent preparation to plan. Be it a music festival, harvest festival, or simply a celebration of the changing seasons, planning often begins up to a year before the event. But congratulations are in order! If you can master these events, you are clearly the perfect event planner and therefore deserve an event thrown in your honour!
Hours: 10.00am ~ 6.00pm
Downtown Hours: 12.00pm ~ 8.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

  2. Radish says:

    Good Career! 🙂

  3. Danielle says:

How can I get this on my game? Please

    • missyhissy says:

Download the Nraas Careers Mod from the link above and download my career. Place both into your Mods/Packages folder in your Sims 3 folder. The career should then show up at the rabbithole 🙂

  4. Amy says:

Hey, where do I find this job on the game? I’ve checked the city hall and laptop but it is not showing up.

    Thank you

  5. Partygal says:

I’ve had this career for a while now, but never assigned my sim this career until recently. Everything was fine until she got to Level 5. There is no career title showing up (it’s just blank with the balloons on the side). I see here that it should say “Birthday Party Organiser” (wrong spelling by the way), but mine doesn’t. This career has been here for some time now, but I don’t see anyone else mentioning this issue. ALL your other careers work fine (no issues at any level). Maybe you could look into this and upload a new version with a fix to the Level 5 job title. Thanks. Love ALL your careers by the way. Wish you would do more.

    • missyhissy says:

Hi there, thanks for letting me know. I did spot it myself but as I don’t have my own internet at the moment, I’ll upload it when I can. I am in fact still creating and have half a dozen more to upload when I can. 🙂

      • Partygal says:

Oh, thank you so much for looking into it. Can’t wait for the new version. REALLY, looking forward to all your new careers. I will definitely be looking out for them regularly. Hope you get your own internet soon. I don’t know if you remember me or not. You helped me with my Bartender Career. Love playing it. Great job btw (and it’s flawless). Exactly how I wanted it. Thanks a million for making my dream job come true for my sims. I feel that Late Night is now complete because of you. 🙂

      • missyhissy says:

I do remember you, I thought the name was familiar! You’ll like the new version of the Bartender career going up over the weekend *whispers* opportunities *whispers*. The new Event Planner will be going up then too 🙂

      • Jamie S says:

I am having this exact problem with my new custom career. Two of my level names are missing (1 and 3, all others there) and I cannot figure out why. If you figure out how to make your label appear please let me know! I’ve asked on the mod discussion board recently but have received no answer as of yet.

I also don’t have the word “coworker” on my progression bar, notwithstanding the smiley face and the other three (Mood, Skill, Boss) appearing, so if by any chance you know why that would be, I wouldn’t mind knowing either.

You inspired me to try and make a custom career. I wouldn’t mind it being nice before I post it. It’s a Garbage Collector career. 🙂

      • missyhissy says:

Hi there! It sounds like the problem could be simple typos in your English Strings file. Make sure the code matches your UnhashedKeys file exactly. (I do this a lot myself!) If you’re still having problems, pop a post on my forum or email the career to me and I can show you the problems 🙂 Best of luck!

Thanks Missy, for fixing the issue with Level 5 and updating this career, plus 7 new opportunities. Can’t wait for my sim to try them. I was wondering Missy, should I write down what level she was at before I put your updated career in or will she be at the same career level automatically? Or will she start at Level 1 again? Also, will I miss out on some opportunities if I start her back at the same level (Level 5)? I was wondering that for all my sims. I haven’t changed out your other careers yet (just downloading them) bc I will never remember what job they all had & what level they were at without writing them down. Had to ask you that bc I’m dying to update all your careers, but I might have A LOT of homework to do first. 😅 Just wanted to know if it’s necessary to write them ALL down or will I be wasting my time (being it’s the same career, but updated and the game wont notice the difference in the careers). If I have to I will. I have no choice. I need these careers in my game. 😍 It will definitely be worth the effort, but if I could save myself all that time and hard work I would like to. 😉

    • missyhissy says:

Shouldn’t be necessary, your sim will still be at exactly the same level she was at before. As for the opportunities, if your sims stays at level 5, she’ll only miss out on 2 of the 7 opportunities for the Event Planner career. The other careers will differ depending what level they’re at and which careers they’re in. So no need to jot down levels or anything like it 🙂 Hope that helps 😀

      • Partyanimal333 says:

Yes thanks, that helps a lot. This is going to be a hard decision now. I don’t want to start over a Level 1 for ALL my sims, but I don’t want to miss out on any opportunities either. Looks like I’ll have to go with Level 1 option. I don’t want to miss out on any new game play options & challenges that are available. The more we have the better our careers and game will be. Not to mention more fun too. 😁

      • missyhissy says:

Ahh, you’re a sweetie. Some of the careers have introduced more skills too, so there’s a bonus for going back to level 1! 😀
