The Student Board

This page will contain the links to my Afterschool Activities and Apprenticeships, and any Degrees I may do in the future. It will work like The Job Board page, but will only be for Activities, Apprenticeships and Degrees.

All my Apprenticeships are now being hosted on MissyHissy’s School for Gifted Sims.

All my Afterschool Activites are now being hosted on MissyHissy’s School for Gifted Sims.

Since actual custom degrees appear to not be possible (not in any sort of working state), I’m creating a series of fake degrees. These are custom careers designed like a degree which do promote into a corresponding career. More information on these can be found at MissyHissy’s College of Further Education.

The current majors in University are becoming tiresome to – they are so boring and I’m tried of repeating them. I recently searched to see if anyone else had made custom majors, and found your old ones from the Sims 2 and I loved them, but the Sims 2 isn’t my game, I prefer the Sims 3 and I was just wondering if you’re still working on making custom majors. I really want more majors and I wish you would make some. If you are not working on it anymore, do you know who is? This is the only thing missing from my game (atm) c: Thanks in advance and reply soon please.

Well that’s music to my ears. University has become so boring to me because of this. I’ll check back every couple of weeks to see if it’s done c:

Hi, I also want more Uni majors. I love the careers you’re doing, but I really need new majors :\ Do you know anyone who has already made some or if you’re still doing it? Thanks hunny.

      Hi there, Sage!
Twallan has tried an Education major, check out his site 🙂 Other than that, nobody has done so yet, but I am still working on them 🙂

Hi there! I was wondering if you’re still working on majors like you mentioned above? 🙂

Since you’re the only person I’ve seen who’s done custom afterschool activities, I was wondering if you could answer a question for me. Do you create it the same as you would a custom career, ie could I follow this tutorial with good results: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorial:_Complete_Guide_to_Career_Modding_for_Beginners!

Hey! I don’t mean to pester you, but I was just wondering if you are still interested in creating custom majors?

Thank you so much for all the careers, after school activties and other cool goodies. They look really awesome. You made me want to play sims today!

Hi, I love all of the custom careers. I was wondering if there was a way to make the after school apprenticeships on less days than M-F? I fear my teens won’t have much time for homework, chores, and other activities during the week. Thanks.

  9. Angie says:

All translations of the apprenticeships are in the mail airplane 😀

I see you added quite a few more careers since I was here last, thank you so much! Not to be a pest but I was wondering how the linking of university majors to custom careers is going. Have you considered asking over at NRAAS about it? I think they finally getting close to fixing their site issues, so ChainReaction might have some head space to give some advice.

Hi there. Sadly, the linking of the University majors to my custom careers isn’t going to happen anytime soon. As it stands right now, it’s provisionally possible but not without script modding and I’m not in the right frame of mind to start learning that at this time. I have been over to Nraas and had a similar discussion with another modder who said they’ve managed to link theirs. I haven’t seen the code they’ve used so I don’t know how well it works but it was with script modding.
Unless Chain eventually finds a way to do this via tuning, it’s not going to happen for my careers yet. Thanks for the interest though 🙂

To my knowledge, the Afterschool Clubs (e.g. Metalwork) don’t actually give any Skills. Ever. I’ve sent my kids to things like the School Council and Sim-Fu, but they never gain any Skills or do anything. This is even a problem when they attend perfectly. I fear that you need to increase the Skill gain rate!

Also, why doesn’t the Student Council give a Debate Club Trophy?

Hi there. I’ll have a look for you. I’ve not seen any other complaints yet and these should be using the same skill gain rate as the others. Thanks for letting me know.
It’s not possible to give custom activities awards like that, I’m afraid. It’s like the recitals and things; it’s apparently hard coded into the game and not something that can be done via tuning. It’s a game limitation, not a design choice.
