~ 23rd September, 2020 ~ Added Chinese translation.
~ 4th January, 2020 ~ Added Dutch translation.

I bring you a Egyptologist Career, requested by my Mum! For this career to show up in game, you’ll need Nraas Careers Mod.

The Base Game and World Adventures are needed for this career to work as intended.
It was made with patch 1.36 and works on patch 1.69.
The career is written in English and currently supports Italian, Portuguese (Standard and Brazilian), Polish, RussianFrench, German, Dutch, Chinese and Taiwanese translations. I’ll include translation instructions at the end.The career is based at the Science Lab. To change the designated rabbithole to suit your own requirements, I have a tutorial HERE for you to follow. It has ten levels and focuses on the Writing, Photography and Painting skills.
There are currently no uniforms for this career. You can edit career outfits with patch 1.31 and above, so I highly suggest using this feature to give your Sims a uniform of your own choosing 🙂
Right now, there are no opportunities.
Your Sim may receive a bonus on Snowflake Day if Seasons is installed.
There is no boss for level 10 of the career. For other levels, Bosses can be controlled using Master Controller.
There are three custom tones, Study Artefacts, which builds the Writing skill; Photograph Artefacts, which builds the Photography skill and Sketch Artefacts, which builds the Painting skill.

Career Levels

1. Historian ~ You need to really know Ancient Egyptian history to travel the road of the Egyptologist. Getting to know the basic facts about life in Ancient Egypt is a good start, so make sure you know what you’re talking about, otherwise you won’t get anywhere in this field.
§25/hour
Hours: 9.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

2. Time Liner  ~ Knowing your Ancient Egyptian history is one thing but you need to know which Pharaoh ruled in which dynasty. Was it in the Old Kingdom, Middle or New Kingdom? There will always be someone around to criticise you but if you stick to your evidence, you can’t go wrong!
§40/hour
Hours:  9.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

3. Rock Analyst ~ Sounds so much nicer that geologist but getting to learn sandstone from granite is an essential part of your training. After all, you don’t what to make a huge goof by trying to convince everyone the Pyramids were made out of chalk, now do you?
§55/hour
Hours:  10.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

4. Carbon Dater ~ Wonderful technology that can give accurate dating of ancient structures but you need to know how to work with it. This is quite a fun job because you get to look at all the pretty artefacts that are brought in and once you fiddle with the machine, you can produce a rough date when the artefact was from!
§70/hour
Hours:  10.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

5. Trainee Egyptologist  ~ You made it this far and now you get to do some REAL Egyptology. You’re following some of the pros out to Egypt to excavate the land and explore the tombs. Any discoveries made will have nothing to do with you yet, you’re just watching and getting a feel for the Egyptian heat and the picturesque surroundings.
§95/hour
Hours:  9.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

6. Hieroglyph Reader  ~ You now get to study the written words of Ancient Egyptians. At some times, the images look completely unintelligible to you but with perseverance (and a lot of coffee) you will soon be able to read anything the Ancient Egyptians wrote, from blocks of text on tombs walls to whole books buried with the mummies!
§120/hour
Hours:  9.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

7. Digger ~ No buckets and spades in the Egyptian sand for you! Now you’ll learn how to carefully and methodically uncover ancient artefacts without damaging them. If you’re careful, any discoveries you make, you’ll get the credit for! Unless you break a precious, ancient artefact; then you’ll probably be out of this field quicker than you can say “Tutankhamun”!
§145/hour
Hours:  10.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

8. Tomb Raider ~ Well, not really a raider but now you get to learn all about the ancient burial places, from mastabas and pyramids to the tombs in the Valley of the Kings! You’re exploring the tombs and pyramids and ancient burial grounds in Egypt to see if you can maybe discover a lost Pharoah or a mystery Queen.
§180/hour
Hours:  10.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

9. Mummy Specialist ~ You’ll know all there is to know about mummies and you’ll also get to take some real mummies to schools to teach the children all about them. A Mummies Roadshow! Any unidentified mummies are brought to you and you can determine the age, gender and often the profession of any Ancient Egyptian mummy, often based only on a photograph! Now that’s clever!
§240/hour
Hours:  10.00am ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

10. Renowned Egyptologist ~No one knows more about Egyptology than you do! You’re the best!  Any new discoveries are reported to you so nothing escapes your notice! You travel to Egypt as frequently as most people travel to the supermarket and you’re familiar with every inch of the rich Egyptian sand. Congratulations!
§360/hour
Hours:  12.00pm ~ 4.00pm
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
